We’re fully open from 12 noon to 10.30pm indoors and outdoors. Up to 6 people can share a table inside or in the beer garden, which has 8 covered tables plus 6 more. We’re operating table service throughout, you still need to sign-in and wear a mask unless seated at your table, and we’re restricting numbers to maintain social distancing. The Hop Inn is everything you’d expect in a proper pub, and determined to make it work through Covid restrictions – thanks to everyone who’s supporting us and keeping to the rules, you are very much appreciated!

As before, there are always sixteen beers on tap, wines and spirits (a lot of gins), bar snacks, and teas and coffees. Our sister pub, The Little Hop, plans to re-open in June.

Today’s Beer

8 cask ales and 8 keg beers on tap everyday

Think of us as an on-going beer festival. There’s an ever-changing selection of 12 guest brews – stouts, sours, bitters, IPAs, wheat beers, saisons and pale ales, and 4 permanent favourites – our self-named Hop Bitter by Ramsbury Brewery, Freedom’s lager and pale ale, and Weihenstephaner Bavarian wheat beer.

We’re west-country folk so can’t forget the cider – there are always 2 still guest ciders, and 2 on draft, AND we have around 30 niche, craft ales in cans (mostly with groovy can designs), AND bottled European beers.

Basically, you have the choice of around 60 real ales, craft beers, ciders and lagers every single day of your life. Most of our staff know their beer and breweries and are all too happy to guide you through the what’s on offer.

If you can’t get to the pub, we do home deliveries within a 5 mile radius. We’ll deliver all the gifts available in our online shop too.

The Little Hop

Opened as a micro-pub years ago at No. 7 Devizes Road in Swindon, The Hop Inn was the first pub in Swindon to focus on craft beers. We moved two doors down in 2019 to 8 Devizes Road. Not a big move, but a bigger pub. No. 7 is now our
(imaginatively named) sister pub, The Little Hop.
