Right in the centre of Old Town, we’re a bit of a community hub. The Hop supports comedians, local artists, musicians and artisan makers, giving them space to showcase their work; gets people thinking and laughing with pub quizzes and comedy nights, and we are a nice little venue for live music. Happy to hear from anyone with good ideas for events that bring people together.

Upstairs at the Hop is home to Swindon’s Old Town Comedy Club hosted by comedian and MC Sam Michael with FRESH MATERIAL NIGHT and special PREVIEW SHOWS by nationally known comedians (including Tom Rosenthal, Robin Ince and Fiona Allen. Tickets are £5–£10 and available at Eventbrite.
*Comedy club nights often sell out before we even advetise so best keep an eye on the Comedy Club’s Facebook and Instagram for news.
A burger (with side of fries) and a pint of Hop ale, session pale or Freedom Lager, or a 175ml glass of wine or a soft drink – just £15 on the night when you show your Swindon Old Town Comedy Club e-ticket at the bar.
Quizzing starts at 7.30pm. £3 per person, maximum 6 people per team. Half the proceeds donated to Prospect Hospice, half to the winners plus a voucher for a Hop Sunday lunch for 2 people.

Regular live music upstairs at the Hop, we host the best in original and new music from local and touring acts brought, promoted by SoP Live. Check their feed for more information and ticket links.
Test your ‘melody memory’ with some random music rounds and a shed-load of tomfoolery. Join in for £2 per person (maximum team-size 6 people). We’re the largest exhibition space in Swindon’s Old Town with two galleries showcasing the work of local professional and semi-professional artists and photographers. There’s always an exhibition in the main bit of the pub, and another in the ‘Little Hop Gallery’ in the lower bar. We’re happy to also exhibit the work of therapeutic community groups and students starting out in the creative industries. Keep updated on the exhibitions on our social media.
