WHAT’S ON AT THE HOP
Right in the centre of Old Town, we’re a bit of a community hub. The Hop supports comedians, local artists, musicians and artisan makers, giving them space to showcase their work; gets people thinking and laughing with pub quizzes and comedy nights, and we are a nice little venue for live music. Happy to hear from anyone with good ideas for events that bring people together.

Upstairs at the Hop is home to Swindon’s Old Town Comedy Club hosted by comedian and MC Sam Michael. Comedian and MC Sam Michael hosts the FRESH MATERIAL NIGHT. Tickets are £5–£10 and available at Eventbrite. Keep an eye out (Facebook and Instagram) for special PREVIEW SHOWS, extra information and ticket links.

THE SWINDON SHUFFLE MUSIC QUIZ
Test your ‘melody memory’ with some random music rounds and a shed-load of tomfoolery. Join in for £2 per person (maximum team-size 6 people). All proceeds go to Prospect Hospice, and there’s a voucher for Sunday lunch for two people for the winning team. Be here to register from 5.30pm, quiz starts at 6pm.
ART EXHIBITIONS
We’re the largest exhibition space in Swindon’s Old Town with two galleries showcasing the work of local professional and semi-professional artists and photographers. There’s always an exhibition in the main bit of the pub, and another in the ‘Little Hop Gallery’ in the lower bar. We’re happy to also exhibit the work of therapeutic community groups and students starting out in the creative industries. Keep updated on the exhibitions on our social media.

artsite alternative life drawing
Two-hour themed life drawing sessions upstairs at the Hop, with a variety of poses and costumes. Follow Artsite Alternative life drawing for updates and information on each session. Bring your own materials, £15 per session.
